Free Download: Chakra Pendulum Chart

You guys have given my free downloads so much love, that I’ve been working on some more for you!  If there is something specific you’d like to see, please feel free to contact me anytime and let me know.

The next one I’ve got for you is a lovely chakra chart that you can use with a pendulum!

The easiest way to use this is to hold your pendulum over each chakra symbol (I always start at the bottom, the root chakra), and work my way up.  Hold the pendulum over each chakra symbol, and ask your question.  Some examples of questions you could ask include:

  • Is my “____” chakra balanced?
  • Does my “____” chakra need healing?
  • Do I need to pay attention to my “____” chakra today?

Of course, you can also use this chart to gain insight into someone else’s chakras, with their permission.

You can use any pendulum with this chart – personally, I prefer to use clear quartz, fluorite or amethyst with something like this, but if you’ve got something else, that works as well!

As a reminder, here is a handy graphic that you can use to identify the chakras and their functions:

Deck Recommendation: The Answer is Simple – Sonia Choquette

IMG_0176Today’s deck recommendation is a simple and easy to use deck, suitable for grabbing a bit of guidance when you need it, without going into too much detail.

The Answer is Simple provides, as the name would suggest, simple answers to your every day questions!  I especially like this deck because it’s not one of those ones that’s all positive.  In fact, there’s a card in there that tells you very specifically to “get over yourself”, and a number of cards with other, similar messages.  How can we be objective about ourselves and what we do if we’re constantly surrounded by only positive reinforcement and positive words?  Sometimes, a reality check is necessary, and for that, this deck is perfect.

The artwork on these cards is really cute, as can be seen in the sample images below.  I often carry this deck in my purse, and consult it when I need a quick answer.  I have also used it for readings for others, and the advice these cards give is usually bang on, whether the person wants to hear the truth or not.

If you’re looking for a deck to use for positive affirmations, this deck probably isn’t the one for you.  While the majority of the cards are positive, the last thing you want when drawing a card to help motivate you is something telling you to get over yourself!

Have you used this deck?  If so, share your experiences in the comments!

Spring Equinox Tarot Reading

I did this reading for myself yesterday, and found it to be such a beautiful reading, that I had to share.

The spread is adapted from here.  The card positions are 1-5 from left to right.  For each card, I’ve included some comments in italics, about how what the cards say relates to my life, etc.  Overall, I found this to be a very powerful reading.

A note about this spread:  While it is specifically designed for the Spring Equinox, I find that it is one that can easily be adapted to use anytime.  This is a spread I haven’t used before, but I will use it again, modifying the fifth card to make it suitable for harnessing whatever power is around me and not limiting it to the Equinox.

The tarot deck used here is the Green Witch Tarot, which I recently reviewed.

Card 1:  Balance – what do I need to balance in my life right now?

The Ace of Wands

The Ace of Wands is a strong card when it comes to creativity, career, and work in general.  This card indicates that it’s time to take action on new career ideas or opportunities, or to strengthen already-existing business or life ventures.

This could not be more accurate for me.  I am always struggling to balance my work life with the rest of my life, and my work life always takes over.  I am trying to put aside more time to be creative and pursue other creative ventures, and have recently made some changes to my work life to allow myself to do so.  This isn’t always something that’s easy for me to do…the cards clearly know me almost better than I know myself!

Card 2:  Growth – where should I be spending my time and energy?

The Queen of Chalices

The Queen of Chalices symbolizes empathy, trust, and authenticity of emotions, among other things.  She is a beautiful, insightful card, bringing with her a sense of fairness, and she is a good confidant.  The Queen of Chalices wants us to find time to take a moment and feel our true emotions, helping us to make sure that we are being our authentic selves.

Again, this card is spot on.  Being in touch with my emotions is something that I often struggle with, and, although it’s always in the back of my mind that I’m not always allowing myself to react “properly”, it gets pushed aside for whatever else is going on.  The Queen of Chalices reminds me that it’s important to take time for myself, feel what I need to feel, and be who I really am, not who people want me to be.

Card 3:  Regeneration – what is coming back to me?

The Ace of Chalices

The Ace of Chalices signifies abundance, joy, love and inspiration, again, among other things.  This is the perfect card to have appear in the “Regeneration” position of this spread, as its message is very positive and loving.  The Ace of Chalices is a card of pure love, and its appearance in this spread indicates that perhaps it’s time for some of that to head this way.  This card also signifies psychic abilities, as do several others.

The Ace of Chalices is a beautiful card, and, if it’s time for abundance, joy, and love to head my way, then I guess I had better take the advice of the Queen of Chalices and open myself up so that I’m able to fully take in what the Ace of Chalices signifies may be heading my way.  I’m also always intrigued when cards that signify psychic abilities and their development pop up in any spread, as I feel that I am enhancing my psychic abilities with every reading…having those cards come up only reinforces that for me.

Card 4:  Fertility – what energies are plentiful around and inside me right now?

The Greenman

The Greenman is the ULTIMATE card to have appear in this position of this particular spread.  The Greenman signifies a fresh start, new beginnings, enthusiasm, excitement, innovation, and fearlessness.  The energies the Greenman brings are perfect, beautiful, and necessary, if I am to carry out the direction of the previous cards that have appeared in this reading.

I can’t explain the rush of feelings that came over me when the Greenman showed his face in this position in the spread…it could not have been any more perfect than it was.  I read through the beautiful guidebook that comes with this deck, and found it to be even more powerful when I read that this specific card is associated with the Spring Equinox…wow!  The Greenman appeared right when I needed him to…up to card 3 I was already convinced about the changes I need to make in my life, but His appearance here just solidified that fact, and pushed me forward, knowing that I will have the energies I need when I need them to carry out my “mission”.

Card 5:  Potential – how can I harness the power of the equinox for my benefit?

Harvest is a fantastic card to end the reading on.  It indicates a time of reaping the benefits of what we have sown, and shows that our efforts will be rewarded.  Good health will be restored, and things will go in our favour.  In this position, we see Harvest as something to work towards, and use the Equinox to help give us the power we need in order to be able to carry out the duties we must so that we can enjoy the benefits of what we have done.

This card summed up the reading almost unlike any other reading I have ever done.  In fact, the whole reading was magical.  I have done thousands of readings over the last 15+ years, but have never had one that left me feeling as good as I did about this one, which is why I decided to share it here with you today.  The message of this reading is one that is timely for the Spring Equinox, a time of renewal and rebirth, and it can benefit anyone who reads this post and decides they would like to carry this reading’s messages with them.

While this is a reading that I did for myself, it is a reading for all.  Now, in the weeks after the Spring Equinox, it is time for us to carry out our work and strive to be our true and honest selves, doing what we love.  There is no better time than Spring to start something new…take a step back, evaluate what path you’re on, and think about where you’d like to be…and then go for it!

Charging for Reiki Healing

The following article is from the Reiki Rays website.  This is an important article that discusses why Reiki healers charge for the service they provide.

If you have ever stopped to wonder why I am charging for healing, or have thought that charging for healing is inappropriate, please read this article.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me anytime to discuss this topic further.  The contents of this article also apply to the other services I provide, including psychic and tarot readings.

This article is written by Reiki Master Taryn Walker, and it was published on Reiki Rays on March 14, 2016.  The original article can be found by clicking here.  I have not edited this article in any way – it is published here exactly how it appeared on the Reiki Rays website.

Why Should Healing Be Free?

Article by Taryn Walker

From time to time I receive a booking for one of my distant Reiki sessions and when I send the payment request I get an anger-fuelled reply saying that healing should be free because energy is free. Often this is accompanied by a big rant about money and how healers these days only care about making more of it.

Firstly, I’m always in shock at the way some people choose to speak to others on the internet. I know most of these lost souls would never dare to confront me with such disrespect in person. Some will simply send a message saying “Send Reiki now.” No introduction, no explanation, just a rude demand. Excuse me, there is a human being on the other end of that contact form!

I don’t think of my services as a healer to be more special than the services offered by a plumber. We need different things at different times and everyone who provides a service has an important place in their community. Would you ever think to ask a plumber for free plumbing? Imagine sending the plumber a message saying, “Unblock my pipes, now!” and expecting him to do it for free…

To say that healing should be free because energy is free would only make sense if healing was the only kind of energy that existed. But everything is energy, including money. When you pay for Reiki you are simply exchanging one kind of energy with another kind of energy.

On the rare occasions that I receive hate-mail for charging for my services as a healer I take the time to kindly reply and offer my view on this. That usually ends the conversation, which is a pity, as I would love to gain a deeper understanding from these people personally. I’m guessing it’s partly to do with a subconscious block against money, which thinks of money as evil or dirty. I’ve been there and I’ve done a lot of work to heal this unfortunate belief as money finds it very difficult to come to you if you think badly of it.

I understand how frustrating it is to feel like you never have enough money so I’m able to have compassion for those who contact me in rage about having to pay for Reiki. I just wish there could be a more civilised dialogue around the issue as I could probably offer the kind of advice needed to begin to heal these beliefs around money and healing.

For the healers reading this, I hope that you feel comfortable charging for your services. For karmic reasons it’s important that there is an energetic exchange, especially with healing. I wish for all healers to really value what you have to offer so as to enjoy the monetary exchange. You probably spent a lot of money on your training. It takes time and money to prepare a special healing space for your clients. It’s likely that you often give more of your time than agreed upon for your healing sessions.

So let’s heal all this nonsense about free healing.

Healers are offering a service just like anyone else in the service industry. If you want to be an accountant you study accounting. If you want to be a Reiki healer you learn Reiki. I chose Reiki as my profession because I love it and it suits my temperament. I love holding space for people to have the healing experience they’re ready for. I don’t earn nearly as much as an accountant simply because society doesn’t value Reiki as much as it does accounting. That’s just the way the world is right now, though we need accountants as much as we need healers.

I spent over 5 years training in Reiki practice before I started charging for treatments. I value what I have to offer because of the time, commitment and money I’ve put into my business. The healing work itself I would do for free if living did not require making money. It’s my passion and it comes naturally to me. I see amazing results in my clients and I know what I have to offer is valuable. I’ve chosen to value myself and my offerings despite being undervalued by a largely unspiritual society.

Of course healing can be offered as a gift in certain circumstances. Many hospitals welcome Reiki practitioners as volunteers to help those suffering with chronic or terminal illness. If you find yourself at the scene of an accident, don’t hesitate to discreetly offer Reiki to those in need. I share Reiki with my Dad as often as possible, and would never dream of asking him to pay, as he’s half of the reason I’m here in this world. From time to time I offer free group healing sessions, sometimes as a thank you to those who book sessions with me, for those who cannot afford a session or just in celebration of a solstice or a special moon.

So I’m not saying that healing should never be free. I’m calling for us all to heal our issues with money, to respect the monetary value someone places on their healing services and to speak to each other nicely on the internet, please.

I will continue to take the time to respond courteously to the few angry souls who expect my offerings for free without even bothering to introduce themselves. I will continue to value my services as a healer so as to let others know how I wish to be valued. I will consider all the unseen time, effort and money someone has put into their product or service before judging it as too expensive.

Let’s take the fact that everything is energy really seriously and play the game that this presents to us. Let’s enjoy spending money on things that are good for us. Instead of feeling like we’re losing money by paying for something, instead recognise that you’re gaining something through a simple and even sacred exchange of energy.

When you value yourself and your offerings, it gives others permission to value themselves and they will then know how to value you too.

This wasn’t meant to be a post about self love but, as usual, that’s what it all boils down to.

Deck Recommendation: The Green Witch Tarot

IMG_0161The Green Witch Tarot is a stunning deck created by Ann Moura and Kiri Ostergaard Leonard.

This deck is perfect for any Green Witch, although really, it is not limited to the practice of Green Witchcraft.  Anyone who practices a nature-based religion will have no problems using this deck.

The illustrations are gorgeous, and I’ve found the deck to be very accurate, based on the readings I’ve done with it for myself and others.  The guidebook that comes with the deck is very thorough (a complete book, rather than the small booklet that often accompanies tarot and oracle card decks), making this the perfect deck for someone who is just beginning their journey in tarot.  Of course, this deck is also suitable for seasoned card readers looking for a new deck.

IMG_0162The imagery in this deck is absolutely stunning, and personally, I find that each card speaks to me when I am doing a reading, pointing out little things specific to this deck and its interpretation.  As you can see in the pictures, the cards are absolutely gorgeous and very colourful.

Those familiar with the tarot should note that a number of the Major Arcana cards have had their names changed to make the deck more “Green”, including the Greenman replacing the Fool and the Horned God replacing the Emperor.  Nevertheless, the cards are numbered, so as long as you know the order of the Major Arcana without looking them up, you shouldn’t have a problem with that.

I’ve had this deck for a while, but am only getting around to posting about it now.  I had preordered it, so got it shortly after it came out, and since then it’s been one of my most-used decks in readings I’ve done for others.  The results are always good…the readings are accurate, detailed, and the cards leave people feeling happy and at peace with them.

If you’re in the market for a new deck, or are a collector looking to expand your ever-growing collection, I highly recommend purchasing this deck!

Invigorating & Healing Essential Oil Blend

Essential oils are a staple in my magical healing toolbox.  I use them every day, for all sorts of things.  Every night, I put a few drops of lavender oil on my pillow.  When I feel tired, I grab a citrus essential oil and mix it in with a small amount of hand lotion, which I then massage into my arms.  When I’m sick or need to disinfect something, I turn to tea tree oil.  Essential oils are one of the easiest ways to incorporate the healing properties of plants into your life.

This recipe is for one of my favourite blends.  You can mix this up in a small amount of carrier oil (I like jojoba), or place these oils and herbs into the water of an oil burner, like I did last night.  If you’re using an oil burner, make sure there is enough water, as the lavender will soak up a bit, and it can burn off quickly, depending on what type of candle you’re using.  I like to use small tealights, so that the water evaporates slowly.

I have provided recipes for use with both a carrier oil and for use in an oil burner, for your convenience.

Invigorating & Healing Essential Oil Blend in Carrier Oil

  • 15-3oml carrier oil (jojoba, grapeseed, coconut, olive, etc.)
  • A generous pinch of dried lavender
  • 10 drops lemongrass essential oil
  • 5 drops lavender essential oil
  • 3 drops pine essential oil (I used longleaf pine)

Mix all of the above together in a small bottle, adding the lavender last.  Let sit for a few days to allow the scents to mingle with the delicate dried lavender.  Apply to body as desired.  If you are hoping to use this as a moisturizer, it is preferable to use jojoba or coconut oil.

Invigorating & Healing Essential Oil Blend for Oil Burner

  • Water (quantity depends on the size of your oil burner)
  • A pinch of dried lavender
  • 3 drops lemongrass essential oil
  • 2 drops lavender essential oil
  • 1 drop pine essential oil (I used longleaf pine)

*These quantities are for a fairly large oil burner, which holds approximately 100ml of water.  If your burner is a lot smaller, decrease the lemongrass oil to 2 drops and the lavender oil to 1 drop.

Place water and essential oils in the top of the oil burner before lighting the candle to ensure that the burner does not crack.  Once this has been done, carefully sprinkle dried lavender over the water/oil mixture.  As long as the candle keeps burning, the scent from this will last for several hours.

I find this oil blend to be energizing and calming at the same time.  The fresh scent of the lemongrass oil contrasts nicely with the lavender and pine oils, and the end result is very pleasing.  I have made this blend in a carrier oil, and once it is finished doing its thing, I would have no qualms about putting this on my body.  It smells fantastic.

Stay tuned for a separate post about some of my favourite essential oils and their properties!

Acupuncture and Reiki: The Perfect Match!

I’ve recently been going for acupuncture to try and help build my immune system, and it’s been great.  I am sleeping much better (and at normal times), and the 45 minutes I’m spending lying there in a recliner while the needles do their work is some of the most relaxing time I have every week.

After my initial couple of treatments, I decided that maybe I should incorporate Reiki into my acupuncture sessions, and the results have really been amazing.  Not sure how my immune system is doing, but I feel better than I’ve felt in a while.

An important part of the practice of Reiki is to give yourself treatments, something I know not all Reiki practitioners do.  The ideal thing to do is to treat yourself twice a day, morning and evening, but even just once a day or once every couple of days is really better than nothing.  I will admit, I don’t always get my two treatments in, because I usually end up sleeping as long as possible and don’t have time in the morning, but if I miss the morning I try to make it up at some point during the day when I’ve got a bit of time.  The nice thing about Reiki is that you carry it with you wherever you go, and can therefore do it anywhere.

Ideally during acupuncture I would like to give myself a full treatment, but that involves moving my arms more than the needles the acupuncturist puts in them allows, so I’ve taken to just placing my hands on my thighs, palm down, and giving myself Reiki that way for the duration of my 45 minute acupuncture session.

Today, I almost dozed off during the session, but caught myself and managed to stay awake (didn’t want to snore and wake others who were in the room with me!)…I was so relaxed that I just felt like I was melting into the recliner.  It was an absolutely beautiful feeling, and it is something I do with every acupuncture session now, to help increase the benefits of both.

If you are a Reiki practitioner who has acupuncture treatments and haven’t tried this, I would strongly suggest doing so.  If you are not a Reiki practitioner and would like to become one to treat yourself and others, please contact me!

The Power of Positive Affirmations

FullSizeRender (2)Positive affirmations are specific statements or objects that help us to overcome negative thoughts, self-sabotage, and low self esteem.  They can take many forms…some people use calendars that provide daily affirmations, or phone apps, cards, or other sources of affirmations to help themselves.

Positive affirmations give us something to think about, and can provide support for us even when we feel that we have no support from anyone else, or from within ourselves.  They make us stop and think about things differently from how we may have thought about them in the past.  Positive affirmations tell us that things are going to be ok, and remind us that we have strength inside ourselves to be the best that we can be and get through difficult situations.

FullSizeRender (1)Lately, I have been using a deck of cards called Miracles Now, by Gabrielle Bernstein.  With over 60 cards in the deck, I rarely have a repeat, and, if I do, I take it as a sign that I need to pay extra attention to whatever the card is telling me.

When we feel like we’re overwhelmed, too stressed, or in need of guidance, positive affirmations can help ground us and remind us to be who we are if we want to succeed, and I find these cards particularly useful for that.

When choosing a method of receiving positive affirmations, you have to pick something that appeals to you.  For me, these cards are that – I love their bright colours and the fonts used.  Each card is like an explosion of happiness in my hands.  As can be seen from my photos, the cards are really brilliantly coloured and there is a lot of variety.  These cards really speak to me, and I find that they can be an instant pick-me-up when I’m having an off day.

FullSizeRenderI always try and draw a card in the morning for some assistance and guidance throughout the day, but if I forget, I do it whenever I have time.  The deck is packaged in a neat little box, and it’s small enough that I can discretely slip it in my purse and take it with me wherever I go.

While positive affirmations should never be viewed as a “cure-all”, sometimes reading some positive words on a card or anywhere else, or even hearing them from another person can be enough to give us the fuel to pick ourselves up and keep going.

I have many oracle decks that I have used in the past for positive affirmations, as oracle cards often serve that purpose well, but this deck is my absolute favourite, and it is the only one I use exclusively to pull affirmations for the day.

Are positive affirmations something you’ve incorporated into your life?

All About Aura Quartz

As promised, I’ve got a post all about aura quartz for you today, along with some pictures of a few of my own pieces.

The creation of aura quartz involves bonding natural quartz crystals with an assortment of different compounds, to produce brilliant colours and a multicoloured iridescence that is nearly impossible to capture with a still photo…to really see an aura quartz piece in its full glory, you need to see a video of it reflecting light, or, ideally, see it in person.

So…what is aura quartz?  Why did someone come up with the idea of artificially enhancing something that was already pretty and useful to begin with?  Does aura quartz still have healing properties?  These are some of the things I’m going to discuss in this post.

As I said at the beginning, aura quartz is created by bonding quartz crystals with a variety of different compounds, including gold and platinum, to produce different colour variations.  I haven’t been able to find any concrete information about why this is something people started doing, but, judging from the fact that this is something that involves other natural elements, it seems that aura quartz may have been created initially to enhance the power of the crystal quartz by adding other natural substances into the mix.  Plus…aura quartz is gorgeous!  Who wouldn’t want a few pieces like this accessible to them?

Because of the alchemical nature in which aura quartz is created, the energy of these crystals is often magnified.  Aura quartz is especially helpful in healing, cleansing, and calming us and our auras, and, as such, one of my aura crystals is always my go-to when I’m doing anything related to the aura.  Different types of aura quartz have different properties, but one thing that they all share is their incredible effect on healing the aura

Aura quartz is also a great tool for psychic development and protection, as it helps protect against negative and harmful energy.  I put a piece of aura quartz next to my bed on my nightstand a few months ago, and have noticed a sharp decline in nasty dreams since then.  As someone who is often prone to very vivid and sometimes prophetic dreams, this is important to me…my aura quartz has helped me gain restfulness from my sleep, and it was so, so badly needed.  Aura quartz can help you focus your psychic abilities and see things more clearly, as it bathes you in healing and washes away the negativity that may be blocking your way.

It’s hard to believe that a crystal that has been artificially enhanced could be more powerful than the real, natural thing, but I have found this to be the case time and time again with aura quartz.  I consider the specimens of aura quartz in my collection to be some of the most powerful crystals I’ve got, and have used them countless times for all sorts of things!

Do you use aura quartz?  Is it something you’ve heard of?  Or maybe not?  Let me know in the comments!

Pictured below is a small sampling of the collection of aura quartz I’ve acquired over the years…I have about 20 different pieces of aura quartz altogether, but these are some of my absolute favourites.

Recipe: Healing Tea Tree Face and Body Scrub

IMG_0186I absolutely LOVE making my own beauty products…scrubs, masks, lotions, body butters, salves, oils…you name it!  If there is interest in this, I will post some of my recipes from time to time.

Today I’ve got a nice little recipe for you…quick and easy to make, and very soothing and healing for your skin.

While I usually use some form of brown sugar for scrubs, I chose to use white sugar for this one, as the scent of tea tree oil mixed with brown sugar was a bit stronger than I would have liked…white sugar doesn’t really have a smell of its own like brown sugar does, but it adds a hint of sweetness to the oil, which is exactly what I was looking for.

To make about 1 cup of this scrub, you will need:

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup solid coconut oil
  • 1 tsp vitamin E oil
  • 2 drops lavender essential oil
  • 10 drops tea tree essential oil

The easiest way to mix up this (and any) scrub, is to place the sugar and coconut oil into a sturdy plastic freezer bag, and mix it together from the outside.  Since the coconut oil is solid, the warmth from your hands will melt it into the sugar, without making it too soft.

Once you’ve mixed together the sugar and coconut oil to your satisfaction, add the vitamin E and essential oils, and mix up a little more, until everything is mixed and the scented oils are distributed uniformly.

You may use more or less tea tree oil if you like…this is what I used, and it had a nice strong scent, without being overpowering.  The lavender oil added a hint of floweriness and cut the strong scent of the tea tree oil just enough to make it soothing.  If you’ve used tea tree oil before, you’ll know that it does have a strong scent.

Tea tree oil has long been used as an antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral remedy, and is often used in products geared towards skin problems such as acne and dandruff.

The coconut oil in this scrub makes it very moisturizing without being greasy.

If you make this, leave a comment and let me know how it turned out!  I made some for myself, and gave a bunch of it away over the holidays, and the feedback I’ve received so far has been very positive!

Deck Recommendation: Chakra Wisdom Oracle Cards

IMG_9651The Chakra Wisdom Oracle Cards deck, by Tori Hartman, is a real gem in my collection.  I’ve had it for quite a while, but haven’t had time to post a proper review of it until now.

Unlike a lot of the decks that I feature, this deck does not have the traditional look and feel of a typical deck of oracle cards.  The cards are small compared to most oracle decks…they are only slightly larger than playing cards, as can be seen in the picture with my hand, below.  They come with a fantastic guidebook, and a beautifully-constructed box.

As is typical of decks like this, the book that comes with the cards details how to use them, but, also as is typical, you don’t need to let this restrict you in any way.  I have used this deck in all sorts of spreads, and have had really great results across the board.

The deck’s illustrations are beautiful, and each card corresponds with one of the chakras, identified by the colour around the frame of the card.  The card interpretations in the book are very detailed, making it easy for anyone to use this deck, even with no previous card experience at all.

Please visit Hartman’s website for this deck for more information about it.  Aside from very detailed information about the cards, it also features a place where you can get a free reading!  The free reading does require account registration, but it’s quick and painless.

Product Recommendation: My Shining Life & Biz

I wanted to start 2016 off with a bang, so took a look around online for tools to help me.  I had planned on downloading something free…until I stumbled upon the My Shining Life & Biz planners!

I grabbed the PDF versions, because I spend so much time at my computer and thought a digital item might be nice, but they also offer them as hard copies, or you can purchase the PDF versions (as they are much less expensive), and then just print them yourself or have them printed.

The layout of these planning books is fantastic.  I dove right into the business one, and after completing a few pages I felt so inspired to grow my business that I had to put it down before I got carried away!

If you’re looking for 2016 to be the year of growth either for you personally or for your business (or both!), definitely check these out.  The pricing for the individual PDF books starts at less than $10 USD, and these planners are definitely worth it.

If you’ve already got these, or purchase them based on this recommendation, let me know!  I’d love to hear all about how these workbooks are helping you plan for the year ahead!

These books are geared primarily towards women, although some men may also enjoy them.

The Year Ahead

Everything I’ve looked at indicates that 2016 is going to be a fantastic year, and I’m so glad that I have all of you to share it with!

In 2015, I started this site as a blog.  Gradually, I added a small shop to share some of my services, and from there, the site has grown to having a presence in various places throughout the web, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

I have lots of exciting plans for different things to add to the site this year, to make it an even more interesting place to visit.  This will start with some additions to the shop later this week.

In the meantime, if there is anything you’d like to see added to the site, please feel free to leave me a note in the comments, and I will do my best to incorporate your suggestions as the site grows and continues to evolve.

Here’s to 2016…it’s going to be great!

Deck Recommendation: The Fairy Tarot, by Doreen Virtue and Radleigh Valentine

IMG_9645Doreen Virtue’s tarot decks always intrigue me, and this one is definitely no different.  Unlike most tarot decks, the cards are the size of oracle cards (making a full deck quite a handful), and they often have characteristics of oracle cards, such as having messages printed directly on the cards themselves.

The Fairy Tarot has absolutely gorgeous artwork, and although it can be a bit of a pain to shuffle, you get used to it quickly.  This is not the first tarot deck I’ve purchased by Virtue and Valentine, so I was already used to the size and slight clumsiness of the deck…and even if I hadn’t been, the beauty of the cards would have made me work through it!

Rather than having the suits most tarot readers may be used to (cups, etc.), this deck uses the seasons, which I found very appropriate for something fairy-themed.  I am always excited when I come across anything-fairy, so of course I had pre-ordered this deck as soon as it was available.

When I first unwrapped the deck, I spent some time studying each card, and soon became lost in the beauty of each card.  The amount of detail in these images is absolutely amazing…they have an explanation and key words on each card, but really, when I look at these cards, I don’t need that.  The imagery is so perfect for each and every card.  This is definitely my favourite of the Virtue & Valentine tarot decks.

If you’re into traditional tarot, you may not like this deck as much, as it does stray from tradition, as I’ve described above.  However, if you don’t mind things being untraditional, and find that decks focused on fairies speak to you, I would encourage you to give this deck a look…I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
